Mike Tyson once blasted a reporter who asked him about his rape conviction during a live television interview.

In February 1992, the former world heavyweight champion was convicted of raping Desiree Washington and he served three years in prison.

‘Iron Mike’ returned to boxing following his release and has remained a celebrity since his retirement.

Tyson travelled to Toronto, Canada to promote his ‘Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth’ one-man show on local station CP24 in 2014.

What was meant to be a quick plug for Tyson’s show turned into an awkward exchange between the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ and interviewer Nathan Downer.

Tyson sat alongside Toronto mayor Robert Ford and Downer decided to ask: “There’s a race for mayor, we know you’re [Tyson] a convicted rapist, this could hurt his campaign. Now how do you respond to that?”

Tyson immediately fired back with: “I don’t know who said that. You’re the only one I heard who said that.”

Tensions continued to rise. Tyson vented: “F**k you. Because it’s negative, and you’re being negative.”

When Downer mentioned they were live on-air, Tyson replied: “What are you going to do about it?”

Downer attempted to get the interview back on track. He said: “Is it nerve-racking for you to do something like this, or is it more nervous for you to box?”

By this point, Tyson was in no mood to exchange pleasantries.

“It’s more nerve-racking for me to sit here talking to a rat piece of shit like you,” Tyson responded. “No, because you’re a piece of sh*t, you really are. F**k you.”

Downer took to X, formerly known as Twitter, after the incident and said there was no ill will towards Tyson.

His message read: “No ill will towards Mike Tyson. He lashed out at me and that’s okay. Not taking it personally.”
