She has been going strong with husband Ben Affleck ever since they famously reunited three years ago – but that doesn’t mean Jennifer Lopez is immune from feeling jealous should someone hit on her spouse.  

During an appearance on Today with Hoda & Jenna, JLo, 54, confessed to feeling jealous when people flirt with her partner, 51.

Jennifer and Hoda Kotb were playing a fun game entitled ‘This Is Me… Now… or Then?’ when the songstress made the revelation.

Using paddles to answer either ‘NOW’ or ‘THEN’, Jennifer answered a series of questions about her life – including whether or not she ‘gets jealous if someone hits on your significant other.’

Jennifer immediately displayed the ‘NOW’ side of her paddle and glared. ‘Don’t play with me. Do not play with me,’ she remarked.

In the event someone would hit on Ben in front of her, Jennifer said she would advise them to ‘step all the way off’ – but in a calm tone.

‘First of all, I’m a lover, not a fighter, but I will let them know in a very elegant and lady-like way to step all the way off,’ she said.

Jennifer also revealed she no longer needs the last word in an argument and admitted she still occasionally likes staying out late – whether it be for work or fun.

While Jennifer said staying up past midnight was a ‘then’ behavior, she still enjoys burning the midnight oil.

‘I like working late,’ she said. ‘I like being in the studio late and making music. I like staying up late and watching movies and things like that. I like going out and dancing on tables. And wearing crop tops!’ she said.

The singer is releasing three projects about her famous search for love – an ambitious musical film, her album, and a documentary chronicling the making of the film and record, The Greatest Love Story Never Told.

Jennifer and Ben, once the ‘it’ couple of the early 2000s, famously split in 2004 after a failed engagement.

The couple reunited in July 2021 and went on to wed in Las Vegas in July 2022.

The actress answered questions as they played a fun game of ‘This Is Me… Now… or Then?’

Appearing on The Kyle And Jackie O Show on Thursday, Jennifer explained it took her almost two decades to ‘figure herself out’ before the ‘universe opened up’ and allowed her to reunite with her ex lover.

‘I fell in love with the love of my life [earlier in my life] and for whatever reasons… we needed to grow and do other things,’ she began.

‘We both went off and had children with other people and other relationships but, you know, in mind I kind of had it like, “Oh, that was kind of the one” and so when we got back together.

‘I couldn’t believe it and I don’t think he could either. It’s not something we ever planned. We really had moved on with our lives but when we reconnected, it was almost instant and we just knew.’

Jennifer went on to describe her personal journey between relationships with Ben, and how having children made her a better person.

‘I was on a real journey ever since my kids were born,’ said the popstar, who shares twins Max and Emme, 16, with ex Marc Anthony.

Ben is also father to two teenage daughters – Violet, 18, and Seraphina, aka Fin, 15 – from his decade-long marriage to Jennifer Garner, which ended in 2018.

The I’m Real hitmaker said she spent time during her marriage to Marc developing her sense of self, explaining: ‘[I was trying] to be better and figure myself out and be the best person I can be so I can be a great mum, and a great example for them.’

‘Then when I got divorced, it kind of kick-started another phase of me trying to figure out myself and relationships and things like that,’ she continued.

Following her divorce, Jennifer endured a string of failed relationships and eventually decided to remain single.

It was at that point that the songstress finally rekindled romance with Ben.

‘I was like, ‘I’m good on my own, I’m fine, I love my life”. And when you get to that place, I think that’s when the universe kind of opened up to me and was like, “OK now you’re ready”,’ she said.
