Additionally, he was the sole child of Gloria Marie James, who raised him in spite of the fact that the odds were against them and worked very hard to provide him with a stable environment. James credits his mother’s influence for both his great achievement and his reputation as a role model. Furthermore, he had recently given his 54-year-old mother a touching note.
When LeBron James was born in 1984, his mother was only sixteen years old. Gloria lived with her mother, which meant that the James family had to put up with an unfavorable situation. But it was a sad tragedy—James was only 19 when Mom passed away unexpectedly.
Gloria James was consequently compelled to raise her child by herself. As the sole caregiver, she had to make tough decisions and exert significant extra effort to provide her son with a stable environment. After winning his fourth championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in the Orlando Bubble, James called his mother to thank her for everything that she had done for him.
