Footage of Jake Paul’s next opponent Andre August has emerged after their fight was confirmed.
Paul has not been in the ring since he lost to British boxer and former Love Island star Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia back in February.
On Wednesday, YouTuber turned-boxer Paul confirmed he will fight August in Orlando, Florida on 15 December.
In a press release, Paul said: “I’m a professional boxer and I want to be world champion, so I need to pursue the path towards greatness against people who have been boxing their whole life.”
According to combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani, the fight will take place over eight rounds at cruiserweight.
BoxRec claims that August has so far had 12 professional fights, winning 10 of them with five victories coming via knockout.
August’s only defeat came when he took on Eric Abraham back in 2018.
After his fight with Paul was confirmed, footage from August’s previous fight has emerged.
On the back of watching the footage, the majority of fans feel Paul will easily win the fight.
One said: “Jake is gonna smoke him based off this.”
Another commented: “How did Jake go from fighting Woodley & Tommy to this guy.. huge step down.”
A third fan added: “Guys don’t be surprised if Jake knocks him out. Jakes choosing less experienced guys over experienced opponents.”
August has won his last five fights and said in a statement following confirmation of the Paul bout: “Jake Paul has the money, the fame, the team and the resources but he doesn’t have my hunger.
“When that bell rings, I am going to go straight to Jake Paul and ring his bell and send him back to YouTube for good.”
Who do you think will win between Paul and August? Let us know in the comments.
