Amir Khan stuns fans with ‘very strange’ video of himself rubbing Mike Tyson’s hands

Amir Khan has raised eyebrows among boxing fans after posting a bizarre video of himself rubbing the hands of former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

Tyson is one of boxing’s all-time greats, having become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world in the late 1980s.

Throughout his lengthy career, Tyson had 58 professional fights and emerged with 50 victories, with only six losses and two no contests in that time.

Since retiring, the 57-year-old has also been coaching fighters, most recently doing so with Francis Ngannou ahead of the bout in Saudi Arabia against Tyson Fury, whom the latter won on a split decision.

Like Tyson, Khan is now retired after hanging up his gloves last year.

Having burst onto the scene at the 2004 Olympics in Athens with a silver medal, Khan embarked on a professional career which spanned 40 fights and included 34 victories.

In that time, he held unified light-welterweight world championships between 2009 and 2012, with his final fight coming in 2022 with a defeat in a 149-pound catchweight bout in Manchester against Kell Brook.

A video has now emerged online of the Bolton-born fighter meeting Tyson and asking him questions about how many people he has knocked out.

Khan said: “These are the hands of the main man. Mike, how many people did you knock out with these?”

Tyson responded: “I don’t know, 48 [in the ring] but like 200 in the street!”

The particularly bizarre aspect of this 20-second clip is that throughout it, Khan is rubbing Tyson’s right hand. You can check it out above.

And reacting to the video on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, boxing fans have commented on the peculiar act.
