Despite the Thunder coming in as the No. 1 seed in the West, they were playing on the second night of a back-to-back, which gave the Lakers an advantage they capitalized on.

The Thunder started strong, quickly establishing a 13-2 lead with notable contributions from Chet Holmgren, Josh Giddey, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. However, the Lakers managed to claw their way back into the game, fueled by key plays from LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Austin Reaves.
